Arrival:
On arrival day we welcome you with a complimentary drink. Relax in your room or relax in our swimming pool or the sauna on arrival. Beside the guesthouse there are excellent walking trails for a stroll in the unspoiled nature. (Unobstructed nature)
We provide folders with selected hiking tours available. In the evening we serve you a hearty snack.
2nd day:
After the breakfast buffet we take you back to the time of the Knights and Damsels of the Homburg castle ruins. We see the lord of the castle “Dietrich von Hohenberg” rise from the grave.
“Stop, who’s there?” There is a sudden sound from the castle ruins. The visitors start to flinch in shock. As if sprung from the ground, the knight Dietrich von Hohenberg, the builder of the castle, stands in front of you. “What do you want here? Why are you bothering me? “You must convince the sinister journeyman that you are brave, decent people and not a pack of robbers who want to devastate the ruin in search of treasures. If you submissively ask for admission and a tour of the “Hohe Haus” the Knight Dietrich will summon his wife Bertha, who will lead you through the apartments.
Immerse yourself in the world of the Middle Ages. In a fun and varied way you will learn about the history and life of the castle. In the bower you will hear the legend of the tragic love story of the damsel Kunigunde. Marvel at the thick, high walls that still stand today and enjoy the magnificent view over the tranquil Werntal.
Dietrich von Hohenberg says goodbye with a “knight’s drink”. With a wonderful panoramic view at the viewpoint of the castle we will serve you a “Burgimbiss (Castle snack)”.
After that, you have the option to explore the nature reserve on your own. In the afternoon, enjoy a cup of coffee in the Café Heuler Enjoy a home-baked cake before going on a hike Tour the Aschfeld area.
In the historic fortified church you can expect a lovingly furnished one roomed house. Mrs. Göbel takes you back to the time of your Great-grandparents. Visit the old village school and try a Mayor’s schnapps in the original schnapps distillery. See A kitchen like what perhaps your great-grandmother cooked in. Finally, all “good children” get a “treat” in the mom-and-pop Laden.
In the evening we serve you a 3-course menu.
